House contents sum insured automatically increases from 15 December to 15 January to provide free cover for Christmas shopping during the festive season.

Choose from a wide range of options what you want to insure under this section and for what amount.

Buildings

Cover for accidental damage to machinery of swimming pools, Jacuzzis, boreholes, irrigation systems garage doors and electrical gates is available.

Vehicles

Choose from comprehensive, comprehensive excluding theft, limited (third party, fire and theft only), or third party only.
Tow-in costs after mechanical breakdown are covered up to R500.
You enjoy cover for emergency accommodation up to R250 per person, or R1 000 per event after an accident.
Trauma cover worth R2 000 after a hi-jacking.

Personal liability and legal aid

Personal legal liability cover for R1 million.
For R10 or R15 more a month you get extended personal legal liability cover (PLIP) to the value of R10 million or R20 million respectively.
Legal-aid cover ranging from R1 000 to R25 000 can be selected.

Family protection insurance

Personal accident insurance of between R1 000 and R75 000 is available
Under the hospital benefit plan, Santam even pays a recovery benefit. You select the amount for which you want to be insured per day, raning from R50 to R400.
Choose a death benefit plan for R3 000, R5 000 or R7 500.
